Forty years ago, on April 26, 1986, a series of explosions destroyed Chernobyl's 4th reactor causing radioactive contamination of a wide area practically in all Europe - from Western Europe to the Far East, in South-East Asia and North America.

A large-scale project "Spring in the Russian North" is launched on the initiative of Governor Georgy Filimonov. It will feature thousands events covering different genres and styles of music, crafts and theatre. Over 3000 events were held in March.
